Fine Art Black & White Photographic Print - 'Ladies-in-waiting' by Dominic Rouse
'LADIES-IN-WAITING' LIMITED EDITION FINE ART SILVER GELATIN PRINT
Available as a toned fine art silver gelatin print on double-weight warm tone fibre paper. The print is signed and numbered by the artist at the bottom right-hand corner of the print just below the image area, using pencil. It is also titled and signed again on the back of the print with the artist's full name, the year of completion and copyright details, again in pencil. Ladies-in-waiting can be interpreted in several ways but deals principally with the various options available on the path to 'womanhood' to those who desire it. The image was published in After Image Magazine, The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism, Vol. 34 #6 in 2007 and owes a debt of gratitude to Portugese artist Paula Rego's 1997 painting 'The company of women'.
