'MAGRITTE, MY FOOT' LIMITED EDITION FINE ART SILVER GELATIN PRINT
Available as a toned fine art silver gelatin print on double-weight warm tone fibre paper. The print is signed and numbered by the artist at the bottom right-hand corner of the print just below the image area, using pencil. It is also titled and signed again on the back of the print with the artist's full name, the year of completion and copyright details, again in pencil. (M.A. Screech in an introduction to Michel de Montaigne's 'An Apology for Raymond Sebond') 'The Well of Truth' a sculpture by the Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte provides the inspiration for this image which was first published in a Lenswork portfolio (LensWork #36) in July 2001. 'The Well of Truth' was made in 1967, the year in which Magritte died on 15th August, which is also the birthday of Dominic Rouse.
