'THE LESS DECEIVED'

LIMITED EDITION FINE ART SILVER GELATIN PRINT

Available as a toned fine art silver gelatin print on double weight warm tone fibre paper.

The print is signed and numbered by the artist at the bottom right-hand corner of the print just below the image area, using pencil. It is also titled and signed again on the back of the print with the artist's full name, the year of completion and copyright details, again in pencil.

'The less deceived' was part of a portfolio of ten images which earned the artist his second BW Spider Award in 2007.

"What is life? An illusion, a shadow, a story. And the greatest good is little enough: for all life is a dream, and dreams themselves are only dreams." (Pedro Calderon 'Life is a Dream')

"Man must accept that his/her existence is entirely accidental. He must at last awake out of his millenary dream and discover his total solitude, his fundamental isolation. He must realise that, like a gypsy, he lives on the boundary of an alien world; a world that is deaf to his music and as indifferent to his hopes as it is to his suffering and his crimes." (Jacques Monod, Nobel Prize Winner for Medicine 1965)

The 'audio' link opens an .mp3 file in which the artist discusses the genesis of this piece, the Philip Larkin poem 'Deceptions'.
