Fine Art Black & White Photographic Print - 'Empty temptress' by Dominic Rouse
'EMPTY TEMPTRESS' LIMITED EDITION FINE ART SILVER GELATIN PRINT
Available as a toned fine art silver gelatin print on double-weight warm tone fibre paper. The print is signed and numbered by the artist at the bottom right-hand corner of the print just below the image area, using pencil. It is also titled and signed again on the back of the print with the artist's full name, the year of completion and copyright details, again in pencil. 'Empty temptress' was part of a portfolio of ten images which earned the artist his second BW Spider Award in 2007. "When a thing was in my reach, I no longer wanted it; my delight lay in the desire. Everything that my mind could consistently wish for was attainable, as with all the ambitions of all sane men, and when a desire gained head, I used to strive until I had just to open my hand and take it. Then I would turn away, content that it had been within my strength. I sought only to assure myself, and cared not a jot to make the others know it." (T E Lawrence 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom') The 'audio' link opens an .mp3 file in which the artist discusses the theme of the headless woman in his imagery with Brooks Jensen the editor of LensWork Publishing.
